I studied at the Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design where I completed courses in yacht construction and yacht design. I then started my career at the design office of Sparkman & Stephens in New York City. There I worked extensively with 3d models for manufacturing, rapid prototyping and visualization of vessels up to 55m in length.

While with S&S, I grew increasingly interested in 3d rendering and creating pretty pictures of our designs. That inspired me to transition to the field of architectural rendering full time in 2006. While with iomedia in New York City I worked on a variety of projects from 3d renderings of a single hotel room to crowd simulation and 3d modeling for the new 52,000 seat Yankee Stadium.

A majority of my time at iomedia was spent as an in-house consultant to the Rockwell Group, working daily with architects and interior designers in a fast paced studio creating renderings for client presentations and internal design visualization. Some of my many projects there included interior and exterior work for large retail development, hotel, casino, restaurant, mixed-use and public spaces.

In early 2010, I moved to Chicago where I began working with Farm CP. My work there focused on product rendering, showing off our clients' products in architectural settings as well as studio environments.

Now working independently, I devote my energy to helping architects and designers of all kinds show their ideas to the rest of the world. I think a good rendering should go beyond just giving surface details of finishes and shapes. I think of renderings as being more like portraits, instantly giving the viewer a sense of the personality of the design and making a unique connection.
